Job Function: Customer Quality Engineer
Essential Responsibilities
Mainly support the PM business and Customers' accounts in Axcelis Technologies, reporting to QA Director in Axcelis headquarter with a dotted line with the local manager.- Will follow and enforce company quality system requirements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for the PM to ensure products, services, and operations meet all customer and regulatory requirements.
- As necessary, can perform readiness assessment related to Supplier's manufacturing, repair & overhaul, and business systems for new and existing suppliers to meet global company needs.
- Review production documents, work instructions and engineering drawings for inclusion of quality requirements and recommend appropriate inspection areas.
- Conduct in-depth quality investigation to establish root cause, corrective and preventative actions to eliminate repetitive reoccurrence to improve supplier quality performance rating.
- Conduct Internal and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) audits as required.
- Responsible for obtaining immediate root cause and corrective action on defects discovered by customers during or after installation.
- Provide presentation materials for the following meetings: Customer Required Feedback, Problem Resolution Process (customer facing 8D) and QBR (Quality Business Review)
- Support DOA decisions and drive immediate actions by working with responsible engineers
- Follow-up on the Quality Issues with Factory and Engineering.
- Provide 8D root cause and corrective action reports to the Customer.
- Provide QA metrics and input to the QA Director in Axcelis headquarter.
- Identify relevant quality-related training needs and report to the QA Director in Axcelis headquarter.
- Occasional domestic travel is estimated at 30%. Need to be willing to travel internationally.
Required Skill & Training
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline and minimum 5+ years of professional experience working in engineering, manufacturing, and/or quality- Quality experience in Semiconductors, Electronics, and Overhaul/Repair preferred.
- Recent professional experience focusing on supplier development and improving customer satisfaction.
- Recent professional experience working in Quality Engineering functions - experience working in Quality Assurance (QA) and/or Quality Control (QC) in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, especially with data analysis, is heavily preferred - proven experience working with failure analysis, FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis), FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, & Criticality Analysis), and/or product reliability is a plus.
- Experience working with Process Improvement and/or Continuous Improvement practices (e.g. 8D, Kaizen, 4Q, DMAIC, Root-Cause Analysis (RCA); etc.)
- Familiarity with ISO-9001 standards is a plus.
- Experience working in product development and manufacturing.
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
