Program Support Officer - Thailand [Thailand]

Background:

CQC is rapidly expanding its investment in cleaner cooking services across its core geographies. In Southeast Asia (SEA) we have launched a 1 million household five-year investment across Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The Thailand cleaner cooking project entails the deployment of improved cookstoves to 400,000 households in rural Thailand over 5 years. The distribution of stoves began as a pilot project in April 2021 with full-scale deployment having started in February 2022. The project is being implemented by a third-party (implementing partner) and their Thai associates. Currently, CQC has only the improved cookstove distribution project in Thailand. However, it will seek to identify additional investment opportunities that meet the overall mission of the company.


Core Tasks:

The Program Support Officer reports to the CQC Country Manager - Thailand and works closely with Implementing partner and local stakeholders in Thailand. S/he will be primarily responsible for coordinating and facilitating the CQC project implementation in Thailand to accelerate carbon transformation activity, including:


  • Onsite oversight of project as per SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders/implementing partners to develop pre-distribution, distribution and post-distribution activities.
  • Facilitate the implementation and sensitize the awareness of the target community.
  • Train the third parties (as required) on project guidelines/ SOPs.
  • Conduct the Monitoring and Verification (M&V) survey, follow-up visits to households and spot check to monitor and enhance the quality of the action on the groundwork and ensure that it is in line with CQC Standard protocol.
  • Build a robust and trustworthy relationship with local stakeholders and the target community to ensure long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Scout the fieldwork for data cleaning to ensure the high quality and accuracy of data.
  • Manage and analyze large data sets of registrations and surveys.
  • Prepare written reports and presentations to keep track of fieldwork.

Location: The position is a NATIONAL post and will be based in either Bangkok or Chiang Mai, Thailand.


Travel: The Project Support Officer will be required to travel frequently to project sites located in remote areas in Thailand. The Project Support Officer is expected to travel on an as-needed short-notice timeline.


Qualifications or specialized knowledge/experience required:


  • Proven work experience in community development, project management, capacity building and building and facilitating relationships for rural and/or urban development programs
  • Bachelor's degree preferably focused on sciences, health, energy, environment, climate change, social science, gender and development, international development with 3-4 years of working experience.
  • Passionate and energetic individual who wants to grow in a fast-growing and innovative company.
  • Strong aspiration to work with rural community to improve social and environmental impact.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, flexible hours.
  • Good communication skills. Proficient in Thai, able to communicate in English, both written and spoken, if able to understand the ethnic minority language is a plus.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills and competent with email, WhatsApp, and MS Teams video calling. Able to maintain an adequate level of smartphone and computer literacy.
  • Ability to drive and maintain a valid driver's license.
