Our Engineering Team (Digital Solutions I Future Energy Home) develops and operates software to manage home energy devices such as photovoltaic, inverters, batteries, EV charging wall boxes, heat pumps and meters as a cloud-based solution for our central and local units so they can rollout those solutions the end-customers. We integrate with numerous vendors’ devices and apply centralized insights, analytics and control mechanisms over these devices.

Our team is located throughout Germany but also in the metropolitan region of Essen. You can work from Hannover, Hamburg, Berlin, München, Würzburg, Essen, Frankfurt am Main, or from home.


Your Responsibilities

  • Implementing, operating and monitoring the cloud infrastructure for E.ON Future Energy Home
  • Designing procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Investigating and resolving technical issues by deploying updates/ fixes
  • Collaborating in reviews of work with others as appropriate
  • Implementing automation tools and frameworks for automatic code deployment (CI/CD)
  • Quality control and management of the code base
  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats

Your Profile

  • University degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  • Profound knowledge in designing, developing, verifying, testing, documenting, amending and refactoring scripts
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Practical knowledge of container technologies (e.g. AKS, Kubernetes)
  • Experience in security, networking and cloud services e.g. MS Azure, AWS
  • Experience with automation technologies and tools e.g. Terraform, Helm
  • Knowledge of cloud platform administration, performance monitoring and debugging
  • Experience in network, server, and application status monitoring using cloud native tools or 3rd party (e.g. Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk)
  • Very good analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to work with diverse groups of people in a productive manner
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
