Senior Design Engineer, Battery Mechanical Development
Purpose of this position is battery module and pack mechanical design and development including internal layout of the battery. Position holder defines mechanical requirements for battery modules and packs such as vibration level, isolation criterias, cooling etc. Person works in close co-operation with vehicle installation team and battery system development. Work requires also seemless co-operation with internal partners, suppliers and customers. Position owner is responsible of battery module and pack mechanical design and development.
Main tasks are:
- Definition of acceptable installation criterias, such as vibration levels, required cooling and heating, material selection, etc.
- Ensure that designs meet the requirements, including cost targets
- Setting up test procedures for modules and packs, following applicable standards
- Define boundary conditions and inputs for simulations - Analyzing simulation results
- Analyzing test and measurement data - Communication with internal partners, i.e. manufacturing and purchasing
- Communication with external partners, i.e. suppliers, service provides and customers
- In case of battery failures, problem solving
Desired qualifications are:
- Good communication and social skills.
- Knowledge of Creo 3D design system is required.
- Other CAD systems are beneficial.
- Few years work experience on field of battery design is beneficial.
