Job description

The Clerk / Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the general camp cleanliness and management of all service staff on a daily basis. Along with maintaining open communication and working with the management team and client representatives to deliver exceptional service. Utilize camp management software to manage occupancy and update head office and client representatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Technical/Operational

  • Managing camp occupancy and projected staffing requirements through the use of camp management software.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner and submitted to the Operations Department as per the required timelines
  • Daily submission of reports such as, PVS , purchasing requisitions and receiving documents. Inventory, kitchen reports, etc.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of all camp related employee paperwork including staff change forms, incident reports, performance management and evaluation forms, WCB forms (injury reporting package)
  • Along with the Chef, facilitate Toolbox Meetings (using the Daily Toolbox Meeting form) every morning ensuring that all staff report accidents, safety concerns and work hazards. Meeting minutes should be forwarded to LandSea Head Office
  • Maintain constant communication with Head Office staff regarding concerns with personnel, food, equipment, shut downs etc.
  • Ensure all food items are properly stored, served, and discarded as per HACCP and Food Safe standards
  • Counsel/coach employees as required and involve Head Office when necessary, to provide direction on disciplinary matter
  • Provide time sheets to the Head Office, ensuring managers initial hours worked

Housekeeping

  • Make beds, remove garbage, and dust shelving
  • Rooms get swept every day and mopped every other day
  • Stairs, mud room, hallway, and entrances should be swept or vacuumed twice a day
  • Complete linen, comforter and towel exchange for tenants who are in camp for more than 7 days
  • Ensure bathrooms are cleaned entirely each day; floors, toilets, shower stalls, sinks and mirrors
  • Replenish toilet paper, paper towel, and soap
  • Remove garbage
  • Bathroom floors are to be swept and mopped every day
  • Check shower curtains to see if they need changed and cleaned
  • Keep the laundry room tidy for other tenants; sweep daily and mop every other day
  • Keep linen storage clean and organized
  • General housekeeping never stops, always touch up areas that you see need cleaned again
  • Different tasks may arise at the last minute, be available to complete and assist other staff with all tasks they require

General / Management:

  • Assist with incident investigations as they are required
  • Represent LandSea at all camp meetings and discuss/resolve any camp related issues
  • Facilitate daily meetings with Chef to discuss delegation of tasks to ensure required work is completed in a timely manner and overall sanitation is being met
  • Maintain ongoing communication and working rapport with all LandSea clients, ensuring the client is satisfied with overall service, quality and cleanliness.
  • Oversee all camp operations including start-ups and shutdowns, operational, administrative and housekeeping duties
  • Assist in the training of staff in remote camp locations, providing coaching, mentoring and support to all employees in camp

Physical Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work long hours - up to 12 hour shifts; standing; lifting; bending; carrying; kneeling; crouching; able to lift up to 20kgs

Must be physically and mentally fit to perform all job duties

Pre-employment Job requirements

  • Must complete all site safety and company policy orientations
  • Must be able to successfully complete drug and alcohol clearance
  • May be required to take COVID-testing before or upon arrival at site
  • Must have valid Government issued identification for travel

Experience:

Previous experience working in a similar role in a camp environment an asset

Job Types: Permanent, Seasonal

Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
