Eiffage Norge is the main contractor for the E18 Langangen-Rugtvedt highway. The project is a 4-lane 18km long highway including 3 bridges and 2 main twin tunnels (Bjonnas Tunnel 2.5km and Grenland Tunnel 5.1km). It started in January 2021 and will run until end of 2025.
We are in an exciting period of new opportunities in Europe. We are strengthening our international team and have recently opened a Tunnel Blast Manager / Master Blaster position to work within our EIFFAGE Infrastructure branch EIFFAGE Norge, based in Porsgrunn, Norway. As part of Eiffage Norge, you will play a key role as Blast Manager for the tunnels` drilling and blasting activities performed by our team
Tunnel Blast Manager / Master blaster / Bergsprengningsleder
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and requirements related to Occupational Health and Safety, Environment and Quality Assurance for the tunnel blasting activities
- Cooperation with Client (Nye Veier) Blasting Manager
- Establish the blasting reporting according to standards
- Establish tunnel drill & blast design
- Cooperation with site engineers and Production Shift Supervisor (tunnels foreman) to prepare tunnels blasts
- Ensure efficient blast results to obtain good tunnel productivity (excavation rates) and secure general program of works
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the rock blasters(Bergsprengere) in the tunnels
- Ensure rock blasters (Bergsprengere) are competent to conduct blasting in tunnels and work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor, check and examine all blasting equipment in the field such as periodic maintenance schedule
- Ensure exploder is maintained to blasting standards of safety and remains reliable
- Collect data of drilling and blasting including record details of drill pattern, location, entire location, blast time, explosive usage and blast results
- Responsible for safety performance and conformity within the area of control
Qualifications
- Have an accredited qualification as Blast Manager applicable in Norway (“Bergsprengningsleder”).
- Min. 3 to 5 years experience as Blast Manager in Drill and Blast tunnel construction
- Understand applications of drill & blast design and Blasting software (“BlastManager” software or similar)
- Familiar with designing drill & blast, leading the team and explosives handling.
- Good communication skills in English and Norwegian, both written and oral.
- Have strong interpersonal skills, open-mindedness and curiosity, as you will be integrated into the construction team and work closely with the other departments and our Client.
- Have demonstrable commitment to Health & Safety ensuring everyone goes home safely every day
