About Our Client
Our client is a Global MNC player. Due to their expansion plan in Indonesia, they are looking to recruit for a Coffee Trader to be part of their growing team.
Job Description
- Develop upstream procurement for Robusta.
- Work with Sustainability team to use the same field staff and operations to procure both Robusta & Arabica
- Work with Sustainability team to coordinate purchase pricing.
- Manage local trade to roasters: all sizes and qualities
- Manage the imported coffee business
- Develop the non-coffee trading opportunities utilizing the same farmer networks
- Develop domestic and international sales for Farmer Hub products
- Farmer Hub can include any product produced by the same farmers or communities: pepper, spices, fruits, and etc.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant trading regulations and industry standards. Accurately maintain trade documentation and records to facilitate smooth transactions and audits.
- Track and analyze the performance of coffee trades, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
- Promote sustainable and ethical practices within the coffee supply chain, ensuring that the company's trading activities align with responsible sourcing principles.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Agriculture, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications in trading or finance would be advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Coffee Trader or in a similar commodities trading role, with a deep understanding of the coffee industry, coffee types, and origins.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret market data and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, shipping procedures, and risk management strategies.
- Fluency in multiple languages may be advantageous, given the global nature of the coffee trading business.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
