A waiter's main responsibilities include:
Greeting customers: Welcoming guests as they arrive, showing them to their tables, and providing menus.
Taking orders: Listening attentively to customers' food and beverage preferences, answering any questions they may have, and accurately recording their orders.
Serving food and drinks: Delivering orders to tables promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and presentation. Refilling beverages as needed.
Providing recommendations: Offering suggestions from the menu and providing information about specials or chef's recommendations.
Addressing customer inquiries: Responding to customer inquiries, resolving any concerns or complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Maintaining table settings: Setting up tables with appropriate utensils, napkins, and condiments. Clearing and cleaning tables between guests.
Collaborating with kitchen staff: Communicating customer requests to the kitchen staff, coordinating order timings, and ensuring the smooth flow of food service.
Handling payments: Presenting bills to customers, processing payments accurately, and returning change if necessary.
Upselling and promoting: Recommending additional items such as desserts, appetizers, or beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase revenue.
Ensuring cleanliness: Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the dining area, including tidying up tables, chairs, and other areas.
